Easy

Escape Tokyo for a seaside day trip to Atami! Explore ancient shrines, enjoy fresh seafood, stroll Sun Beach, and experience local hot springs.

Escape the high-energy streets of Tokyo and head south to Atami, one of Japan's most celebrated coastal resort towns. Known for its hot springs, ocean vistas, and rich history, Atami offers the perfect seaside day trip reachable in under an hour by train.

Meet your local guide at Tokyo Station and travel together by bullet train to Atami. Upon arrival, step right into the vibrant Heiwa Dori shopping street. Wander through traditional stalls filled with local street foods, fresh seafood delicacies, and popular local sweets.

Next, visit the famous Kinomiya Shrine, a spiritual haven home to a colossal camphor tree over 2,100 years old. Legend says walking around its trunk extends your life by a year. Enjoy the serene forest atmosphere and open-air shrine cafes nestled under the greenery.

Head down toward the ocean to stroll along Atami Sun Beach, often called the "Monaco of the East" for its coastal palm trees and hillside resorts. Take in the sea breeze and capture memorable photos along the waterfront before heading back to Tokyo, unwind with a soothing foot bath in the geothermal waters near the station.
